Position Summary:

The Health Equity/ Public Health Analyst supports the work of the association’s combating structural racism efforts, such as monitoring current practices, analyzing current information, conducting interviews, facilitating discussions, cultivating relationships, and communicating results and findings. The Health Equity/ Public Health Analyst has in-depth knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion and has the unique opportunity to collaborate across teams to contribute to a variety of projects to include research, learning, and helping to operationalize action items.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HEALTH EQUITY/ PUBLIC HEALTH ANALYST *:

  • Contributes to conceptualizing equity-focused content (briefs, reports, newsletters, presentations) and presents findings concisely and effectively.
  • Facilitates conversations on health equity and combating structural racism via interest groups, leadership development programs, and other avenues.
  • Leads tasks to advance health equity and combat structural racism by conducting literature reviews, environmental scans, interviews, and interpreting data.
  • Drafts interview protocols, conducts interviews, analyzes qualitative data, and writes briefs or reports.
  • Serve as an in-house subject matter expert in health equity and structural racism for project proposals, conferences, and convenings with external stakeholders.
  • Advises on integrating health equity in association activities by examining new and relevant content for policy development, advocacy efforts, and healthcare program evaluations.
  • Serves as a resource to respond to information requests on health equity and related topics to support member hospitals and association strategies.
